Poster Analysis
The poster for 'Final Destination' (2000) relates well to its tagline "Rest in Pieces" as the image of the persons face is portrayed on shattered glass implying they are suffering or dying which is also the intended meaning of the tag line. This is reinforced by the fact that the bottom half of the face which is not covered by the glass is a skull which signify death, this overall suggests that the glass smashing implies someone being killed as behind the glass if the skull almost like a skin. The scene behind it is primary black with lighter Gray colours, these colours make the focus of the poster stand out more while also contrasting well. The titles are white so they are easy to read and stand, while the month of the films real ease is red which the suggests the designers wanted the date to be differentiated from the titles and stick in the persons mind. The glass smashing also implies accidents which is the primary tool for the killing in the franchise. Overall the poster is complex but does have a primary focus thereby not overcrowding the poster and making the message clear.

The 'Dead Silence' (2007) poster depicts a puppet with the hand of the puppeteer supposedly signalling the viewer to be quiet. This relates well to the tagline and the title of the film as the hand is decayed and rotting implying its a unfriendly character and is threatening with the tagline "You Scream you die" being a threat this bodes well". The main protagonist in the film being the doll which is clearly shown on the poster as being at the forefront is staring right at the viewer in a menacing and in a threatening way. The rest of the poster is black with the doll and hand fading out of it implying that they are shrouded in mystery. Overall I think this is a simple but very effective poster.

The poster for 'Dead Snow' (2009) relates well to the title as its set on a snowy backdrop with the head of a corpse lead on the floor making play on words. The fact that the head on the floor is staring at the viewer implies the undead aspect of the film. Despite the heavily active background of the poster the focus heavily remains on the foreground with the decapitated head and man standing with the chainsaw. The poster also hints that the films has a comedic twist despite the blood and gore, this is emphasised by the chainsaw as a common staple of the zombie genre it in recent years has began to be satire due to its comedic potential when slaying zombies.

This poster is very simple mainly due to the fact that its already an established franchise thereby the image of Jason with a machete instantly tells people what the movie is and what it is about. The setting in the backdrop is also iconic as the series has traditionally been set at crystal lake a summer camps in the middle of the forest, the misty backdrop also creates a sense of fear and danger posed by Jason who stands at the forefront of the poster. At the top of the poster lies the tagline "Welcome To Crystal Lake" below it is jason almost as he is welcoming you, the friendly tone of the tagline is ironic as rather than being welcomed to the camp jason will most likely try to kill you.
