Sound analysis within trailer
Within trailers often the soundtrack is forgotten in the building of suspense throughout the trailer, as the audience mainly focus on the shots and the editing. We have decided to have a soundtrack throughout our trailer as we believe that it adds to the effect of the trailers and builds suspense by enhancing the shots and editing.

The trailer starts of with carm settling music implying a happy carm situation, this is dubbed over by dialogue from the main characters explaining the situation through exposition. As the suspense increases the soundtrack goes mostly silent and is replaced by the sound of James breathing apparatus suggesting he is going to be a focal point for a lot of the scares. for the next part of the sequence soundtrack remains this but between it is sharp screeching noises and thumping sounds which come along with the scares to make them more effective. James apparatus sound remains predominate throughout as well as dialogue from the main characters briefly explaining the progress of the situation through exposition there is little in the way of a single consistent soundtrack.

There is a soundtrack throughout the trailer which grows increasingly loud and noticeable as the trailer goes on. There is but one exception where the soundtrack goes quit to the point it isn't noticeable which is when the signature point mentioned at the beginning of the trailer which was the three knocks on the door which symbolised the Babadook. there is also a consistent in dialogue shots of the characters who say things relevant to the shots just before and after in the sequence of the trailer. The woman's dialogue also symbolises her growing fear as at the beginning she denies the existence of the creature and at the end she goes insane this coincides well with the soundtrack as both her dialogue and he increasing volume of the soundtrack blend well together.

In the Insidious part 3 trailer the soundtrack for the first half is very suttle and cant be hear that well as it is overshadowed by the sound made by objects in the mise- en-scene as well as the dialogue from the characters. For the second half there is a very distinctive soundtrack that is very predominate throughout the rest of the trailer. This soundtrack becomes an iconic part of the film as it is an innocent song distorted by other sounds from the mise-en-scene and what images are being portrayed along with the soundtrack.
