tAGLINE CHOICE AND CONNOTATIONS
When deciding on our tagline for our trailer we wanted one which reflected the mood of the idea, linked strongly to the title of the film and represented the threat displayed in the film well. Our first idea was:
Vengeance, its in the blood
The overall tagline did not link well with the title itself but did with the overall idea of the trailer mainly focusing on the relationship between the protagonist and antagonist as they are related which is the purpose of the end line "its in the blood" while the vengeance part is referring to the intentions of the antagonist. Another tagline we considered was:
Its all in the mind
Its all in the mind
We considered this tagline as it relates to the title as well as the idea's about how the yurei functions in our films and the main ideas of the scenes in our trailer, however we chose not to go with this idea in the end as we felt it was too simple and not that scary.(WT)
In the end we chose the tagline:
There's only one cure
There's only one cure
We chose this tagline as we found it short, catchy and memorable as well as relating very well to the title as it signifies illness which psychosis is a category of mental illnesses, while also relating well to the intentions of of the yurei which is too kill the protagonists as the only cure in this case is death.(WT)
